Zaragoza, Jan 9 (EFE) .- The Department of Health, Social Welfare and Family Affairs of the Government of Aragon is studying the causes of an outbreak of influenza A, H1N1 strain, which maintains hospitalized to twenty people in Aragon, eleven of which are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of several hospital centers. In the province of Zaragoza there are nine people who have been hospitalized, eight in the ICU; in Teruel eleven people, three in the ICU; while in Huesca at the moment there have been no recorded cases. The Directorate General for Public Health of Aragon has been activated since yesterday the established protocol for these cases, after which will be raised to ten patients affected by the influenza A in the province of Teruel, have been informed today according to EFE sources of this institution.

For its part, in Zaragoza have been detected so far nine cases, five of which affected are hospitalized in the hospital Miguel Servet (four of them in the ICU), one in the ICU of the hospital Clínic, another one in the Chiron and two in Royo Villanova. Sources of the Department of Health have explained that "it is not a usual outbreak but is referred to in the protocol', which includes the vaccination to the immediate family and the isolation of affected patients, among other measures.

A person dies for flu A in the Hospital Miguel Servet of Saragossa


A 76-year-old man, that Miguel Servet of Saragossa was joined the Intensive care unit (UCI) of the Hospital, is the first mortal victim of the flu A in Aragon. It is a question of the third mortal victim for this cause in our country, according to the Network of Epidemiologic surveillance of the Flu of the Institute Carlos III.

The patient, that he has died at 13.30 hours and that it was not known like vaccinated of flu, it was bothered, also, of several chronic pathologies previous and had joined the UCI of the hospital very serious state, have reported sources of the Government of Aragon.

In the Aragonese community, 43 persons are still deposited by this virus, of them 18 in intensive care units, the majority in hospitals of Saragossa and nine in the province of Teruel, whereas Huesca continues without registering any revenue.
