The deadly dengue virus has claimed the lives of 90 persons so far this year according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health.

Dengue is on the rise in the Northern Province.
It has been indicated in reports from the Northern Province Health Ministry that during the last 13 days alone there had been 93 patients seeking treatment for dengue.

The Epidemiology Unit no longer reports fatalities. Official %cfr over the past few years has decreased from 0.65% in 2010 to 0.61% in 2011 to 0.4% in 2012 to 0.27% in 2013.
