MEASLES CASE IN SUFFOLK

SUSANA ENRIQUEZ
August 16, 2008

A 13-year-old girl from Babylon was diagnosed with measles, Suffolk health officials said Friday. The teen, who is no longer contagious, had not been immunized and was traveling in Europe recently, according to the county Department of Health Services. She visited the Bay Shore Mall on July 29, while she was contagious, the department said. People who have not been immunized and may have had contact with the teen may develop measles within 18 days of an encounter.
