An outbreak of anthrax at a farm in central Sweden has prompted veterinary officials to launch an investigation into where cows that died from the disease have been buried in Sweden going back to 1916.

According to the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket), 19 cows died from anthrax at a farm in ?rebro County last week.
The animals? remains have since been analysed by the National Veterinary Institute (Statens veterin?rmedicinska anstalt--SVA) which announced on Sunday that anthrax was responsible for their deaths.
Officials believe the cows were infected from dormant spores which rose to the surface following excavation work...
