Koeln have had more than their share of disappointing sporting news this year, but their woes were compounded on Thursday when it was revealed that four players have fallen ill with the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu.
Players Youssef Mohamad, Kevin McKenna, Miso Brecko and Konstantinos Giannoulis, as well as assistant coach Thomas Haessler, have all been confirmed will with the swine flu, a dangerous disease that is notoriously contagious. The players have all been quarantined so as to limit the chances of spreading their disease.
Whether any other players have been infected remains under investigation. All four of the currently sick contingent will miss out on Sunday's clash with Kaiserslautern, which means some serious selection headaches for coach Frank Schaefer.
