LIMA | Heavy rains and hailstorms that occur in Candarave, Andean province of Tacna region, has caused the deaths of 533 young and adult camelids, according to Monday's regional director of Agriculture Tacna, Alejandro Estrada.
"The cause of death of these animals was because they were attacked by pneumonia," said Estrada, indicating that the community members most affected by this loss, are living in Japopunco, San Lorenzo, Hot and Huaytire.
He said that about 10 000 hectares of Tacna provinces Tarata, Jorge Basadre and Candarave, damaged by landslides, rocks and mud that fell as a result of rainfall.
