Tanzania: Dengue Fever Kills Three Students

THE Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has formed monitoring camps after confirming that three students at one of the higher learning institutions in the city have died of, among other causes, dengue fever.

The Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Donnan Mmbando, told the 'Daily News' that health experts have confirmed that out of the four deaths that were reported at the weekend, three of them were discovered to have been caused by dengue fever.

Dr Mmbando, however, said the public should be at the maximum precaution since Aedes mosquitoes are known to cause the viral infection bite during the day. He added that all symptoms point to a dengue fever attack.
