Min of Public Health reveals that dengue fever situation has improved

BANGKOK, 28th October 2013 (NNT) ? Dr.Pradit Sintavanarong, the Minister of Public Health, has stated that the general situation of dengue fever in Thailand has continuously improved.
According to the Minister, the number of Dengue fever patients has dropped from approximately 2,000 per week to under 1,000, which is expected. 714 patients, with no deaths, were reported last week.

TRANG, 23 February 2014 (NNT) ? Trang Public Health Office is urging people to eliminate mosquito breeding sites to prevent dengue outbreaks.
Dr. Witoon Leungdilok, Trang Public Health physician said that dengue fever patients have already been diagnosed frequently between January 1 - February 17, this year. There have been 1,433 patients with dengue fever, one of whom died. However it's expected that the incidence of dengue this year will not be as severe as in 2013, when 152,768 dengue patients were identified; the highest number in 20 years. Of the sufferers 132 died. Even so this year may see up to 80,000 - 100,000 patients.
