First human-to-human swine flu case reported

Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai confirmed the first human-to-human swine flu case in Thailand on Thursday after a woman who came back from a trip to the United States infected her son with the virus.

He also confirmed an additional case, bringing the total of number of infections in the country so far to eight.

"Thailand has three new confirmed cases of swine flu today," he said.

The sixth person infected by the swine flu virus is a 49-year-old Thai woman, who returned from the US on May 25. The seventh case is her 19-year-old son, who has not travelled abroad lately but has had direct contact with his mother.

The eighth case is a 20-year-old woman, who had a sore throat before leaving Thailand for the US on May 30. She returned to Thailand on Monday and was admitted to hospital on Tuesday, Mr Witthaya said.

The mother, who returned to Thailand on May 25, had fully recovered, he said.

Mr Witthaya said the spreading of the virus domestically is a result of infected people returning from abroad.

The ministry will do its best to detect sick people as quickly as possible and limit the spread of the virus.

"We will contain the spread of the virus, in the hope we can stop all infections within two weeks," he said.

人民网曼谷６月４日电（记者任建民）泰国卫生部6月4日宣布，该国确诊了首例人传人甲型Ｈ１Ｎ１流感病例，至此，泰国确诊的病人达到8名。​

泰国副总理沙南在卫生部举办的新闻发布会上介绍说，一位50岁的妇女5月25日从美国返回泰国后，被发现感染了甲型Ｈ１Ｎ１流感。​

卫生部将和教育部一起，对出国旅行的学生密切观察，力争减少甲型流感在泰国国内的传播。​

Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education will work together for the students to travel abroad to observe closely, and strive to reduce influenza spread in Thailand.
