Flu cases rise by 36%: Ministry of Health
BANGKOK, 30 April 2014 (NNT)-The incidence of flu in Thailand has grown worse with a more resilient form of the virus emerging. The number of patients compared with the same period in 2013 has risen by 36%. A total of 30 thousands people are sick, and the flu has killed 50 patients so far. The flu mostly threatens vulnerable groups such as elderly persons, said the Deputy Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Public Health. Medical officers are encouraged to ask more questions, and if any suspect a patient has been sick for more than two days, the patient must receive an antidote without awaiting a laboratory result.
Figures on the department?s website show that as of April 25th, a total of 630,024 people had contracted the virus, a 36% increase in identified cases compared with the same period in 2013...
