MEXICO CITY, Aug 13 - RIA Novosti. The first fatal case of influenza A/H1N1 was registered in Nicaragua, said on Wednesday the Minister of Health, Guillermo Gonzalez (Guillermo Gonzalez).

"The first victim of a new influenza virus has become a 30-year-old woman who lived in the town of Cruz del Rio Grande on the Caribbean coast," - said the Minister.

According to him, despite all the measures taken, the woman was unable to save, because the disease has developed into the severe form of pneumonia.

A total of Nicaragua said 543 cases of influenza A/H1N1. Of these, 52% are men and 48% for women. More than 70% of sick new influenza virus from 20 to 30 years.

Minsa reports first death from influenza A

Health Minister Guillermo Gonzalez announced this afternoon that was first reported killed by the influenza virus A (H1N1) in the country, this is a woman of 30 years from the Cruz de Rio Grande, the department Matagalpa, which arrived since last July 25 in the capital and who died today at 2:15 in the morning.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), the woman came from that town, after practicing a caesarean section and later, doctors diagnosed that he attended the first symptoms of flu, so he had to be transferred to the German Hospital Nicarag?ense in the capital.

According to the minister announced Gonzalez, the woman was quite obese, and according to the characteristics of the disease from influenza A, these people are more vulnerable and more prone to disease, as well as those suffering from heart and diabetes.

Among the recommendations provided by the Minister of Health, through the Channel 4 TV to the general population that is showing any symptoms of the disease, attending the different health centers for treatment.

He expressed that we should not be alarmed with this first event of the first death from influenza A and kept in various centers throughout all safety and prevention to avoid more deaths and infections.

Until today Minsa reported 553 positive cases, of which 528 are already out of danger and 25 of them were being given treatment.
