Report for week 52:
Influenza activity is now widespread in New York City. Influenza-like-illness visits reported to ILINet are at 4.4% of all weekly visits, which is above the regional and national
baselines. Over 500 patients have been hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed influenza since the beginning of October. One pediatric influenza-associated death was reported during early December. There have been 19 long-term care facilities with laboratory confirmed influenza since December 1, with over thirty hospitalizations and three known deaths.

RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) also often causes ILI-symptoms.

It peaked on Dec.18 in New York State and declined a lot on Jan.1 :

while we are seeing a H1N1 wave to build up in USA ...

almost nothing in New York.

Is there still so much immunity from 2009 ?


Long Island and Hudson Valley got the H3-wave worse thean the rest of NYS

Europe has H1, Sweden had >60% of the population vaxed last
season. Didn't help so much :

so, does a real infection -as New York had many in 2009-
protect better than the vaccine now ?
