While Saskatchewan's immunization program seems to be running effectively -- the province is still keeping pace with the rest of the country when it comes to h1 n1 related deaths.The province is reporting two new deaths related to the H1N1 virus. Both cases concern middle-aged women who had serious underlying medical conditions. They are the eighth and ninth deaths connected to the flu in Saskatchewan. But Deputy Medical Health Officer Doctor Saqib Shahab also notes that inection rates are higher than the first wave. Its also striking in long-term care facilities. However he points out that so far, we have not seen H1N1 deaths in otherwise healthy people where H1N1 is the only illness. The vaccine roll-out is also progressing today -- opening up to people of any age with underlying health conditions and students from grade seven to 12.
