Two more H1N1 deaths in Alachua County

Two residents of Alachua County have died of H1N1 influenza in recent days, county health officials report.
A 63-year-old woman with chronic medical issues was hospitalized with the flu virus in mid-October and died several days later, according to Paul Myers, assistant director of the Alachua County Health Department.
A 38-year-old man, also with chronic health issues, was hospitalized in early October. He died last week of complications related to the swine flu.
Neither resident was identified by name because of patient privacy rules.
Influenza is characterized by a fever of over 100 degrees accompanied by a cough or sneezing. Some flu victims may also get a sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills, fatigue, diarrhea or nausea.
Anyone who suspects they are ill with flu should stay home and away from others.
