Right now, 28 inmates at the Hidalgo County Jail are in isolation after one inmate tests positive for a non-life threatening form of bacterial meningitis.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office Commander Joel Rivera told Action 4 the inmate was at the East Hidalgo Adult Detention Center located in La Villa.
LCS, a private company, runs the facility and notified officials at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office that an inmate needed medical attention...
