Warning to dog owners in Bath: fatal disease outbreak

A West based veterinary group is warning dog owners to be vigilant as it has seen a number of cases of Leptospirosis at its surgeries during December.

Highcroft veterinary service, which has a practice in Weston, Bath, says the condition, also known as Weil?s disease, is a serious bacterial infection that affects dogs and can be fatal if not treated promptly.

It is also possible for humans to contract Leptospirosis, particularly children and people who have poor immune systems...
