Well-known member
Data Summary
Those at higher risk of flu complications include:

* People over 65 or under 2 years of age
* Pregnant women
* People with chronic lung problems, such as asthma or emphysema
* People with chronic heart, kidney, liver or blood disorders
* People with neurological disorders that can cause breathing problems
* People with diabetes
* People whose immune systems are weakened due to illness or medication
* People under 18 years who are on long-term aspirin therapy

There are many, many medical conditions, and some not so medical conditions that pose greater risks for flu complications potentially. Based on approximate USA population of 305,000,000.

Let's talk numbers by medical condition, for any conditions that interest you, that you care to do the math on.

305,000 Patients with Multiple Sclerosis: Immune System when revved, sometimes/often destroys parts of brain and spinal cord leaving permanent, irreversible damage.

14,200,000 Patients with COPD

213,500 Patients with Severe Asthma

400,000+ Patients on Dialysis

24,000,000 Patients with Diabetes

Respectfully, how can so many of these people, families, lives be written off? What will the percentages be.....2%, 5%, 10%, 30%, 50%? Weren't there much better ways to "manage" a pandemic? How will history view the decision shortcomings? What is the global price, the outcomes, the suffering, and the loss of life?

Lastly, Many Thanks to those who seek to tell and disseminate the truth, who give freely of their selves, time, and knowledge. And of course to the healthcare workers, EMT's, MD's, RN's who will be on the front lines around the world.

Maybe, this should have been in VENTING.
