Zulia recorded 150 dengue cases in one week

Cases of malaria in Venezuela marked a record in 2013, while dengue experienced up nearly 40%, becoming a problem in health public that threatens to flare up this year. According to the latest bulletin of the Ministry of Health, malaria cases rose 49.4% last year compared with 2012 to 76 621 cases and are of the nature of epidemic.

Confirmed death of a baby due to dengue in Aragua

Dengue fever is unstoppable; the disease has become epidemic in eight states. Also, eight more states have declared the alert, according to the epidemiological bulletin No.13, a weekly publication by the Health Ministry (MPPS).

According to the official report, between March 22 and March 29, 866 probable cases of the disease were registered nationwide. This includes two cases of severe or hemorrhagic dengue fever. There are in total 18,284 cases since the beginning of the year...

Dengue fever cases continue to rise in Venezuela. The epidemiological report issued by the Venezuelan Ministry of Health shows that only between August 24 and August 30, a total of 2,261 probable cases of dengue fever were detected.

The figure shows that the number of cases has soared versus the last few weeks: 2,006 cases were diagnosed between August 10 and August 16, and 2,020 between August 17 and August 23.

The accumulated number of dengue fever cases up to date stands at 43,212, a substantial 31.64% increase, compared to the total of 32,824 cases reported last year...
