400 SE Asian deer die in Nghe An Province
NGHE AN ? Four hundred Southeast Asian deer known as rusas were found dead in central Nghe An Province's Quynh Luu District after Tet, said Tran Minh Hanh, director of the provincial veterinary department.
Autopsies showed they had swollen lungs and livers. Hanh said samples of flesh and organs had been sent for further diagnosis.
Quynh Luu District has about 15,000 of the animals.
