Northern Hemisphere
China (No update)

As of March 24, there were 41 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015 (19 cases in January and 22 cases in February). Compared with the same period of the previous three years (2012 to 2014), the number of dengue cases reported in China has increased in 2015 (Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 21 March, there were 30,890 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 41% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=8,923) (Figure 2). From 15 to 21 march 2015, there were 2,006 cases of dengue reported, 12% less than the same period of the previous week (n=2,275).


Philippines
From 1 January to 14 March 2015, there were 16,328 cases of dengue, including 41 deaths, reported in the Philippines. This is 3% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=15,796). Since week 6 of 2015, the number of dengue cases reported in the Philippines has declined (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 28 March, there were 2,155 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 1 to 28 March 2015, there were 391cases reported, compared with 868 for the same period in 2014 (Figure 4).


Cambodia
As of 17 March, there were 312 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia for 2015. So far in 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week and is following the seasonal pattern seen in in 2014(Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 27 March, there were 124 dengue cases and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 22 to 28 March 2015 (week 13), the number of dengue cases reported in Lao was 16 cases. This is slightly higher compared to the numbers reported in the week 11 (n=11) and weeks 12 (n=12) of 2015 (Figure 6).


Viet Nam (No update)
As of 3 March, there were 5,263 dengue cases and no deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015. The number of reported dengue cases increased between January and February in 2015, contrasting with the seasonal patterns displayed in 2014 and 2013 (Figure 7).

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 March, 668 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015. Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=661), the number of reported cases is slightly higher, but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).



French Polynesia
There were 16 confirmed cases of dengue reported in French Polynesia from 16 to 22 March 2015, of which 4 were PCR positive for DENV1 (Figure 9). There were 8 hospitalisations in March including one severe case.

Northern Hemisphere

China
As of 13 April, there were 66 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has increased slightly in 2015 (Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 11 April 2015, there were 35,701 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 36% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=26,249) (Figure 2). From 5 to 11 April 2015, there were 1, 557 cases of dengue reported, 3.2% less than the same period of the previous week (n=1,609).


Philippines
From 1 January to 4 April 2015, there were 19,946 cases of dengue, including 53 deaths, reported in the
Philippines. This is 6.49% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=18,730) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 4 April, there were 2, 249 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 29 March to 4 April
2015, there were 91cases reported, compared with 225 reported over the same period in 2014 (Figure 4)


Cambodia
As of 24 March, there were 342 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia for 2015. To
date for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the seasonal pattern seen in 2014(Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 10 April, there were 182 dengue cases and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 03 to 10
April 2015 (week 15), the number of dengue cases reported in Lao was 24. This is lower compared with the
number cases reported in the week 14 (n=34) of 2015 (Figure 6).



Viet Nam
As of 12 April, there were 9,237 dengue cases and no deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015. Compared to
same reporting period of 2014, the number of dengue cases increased by 25%, whilst the number of deaths
increased by 5 cases. From 6 to 12 April 2015, there were 410 cases of dengue reported from 27 of the 63
provinces and no deaths. Compared with previous week (n=392 cases, no death), number of cases
decreased by 5% (Figure 7)

Southern Hemisphere
Australia (no update)
As of 31 March, 668 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=661), the number of reported cases is slightly
higher, but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


French Polynesia
There were 16 confirmed cases of dengue reported in French Polynesia from 30 March to 05 April 2015
(Figure 9). There were 11 hospitalisations in March including one severe case.

Northern Hemisphere

China (no update)
As of 13 April, there were 66 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same period of the
previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has increased slightly in 2015 (Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 25 April 2015, there were 38,517 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 33.7% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=28,814) (Figure 2). From 19 to 25 April 2015, there were 1, 446 cases of dengue reported, 5.2% higher than the same period of the previous week (n=1,370).


Philippines (no update)
From 1 January to 4 April 2015, there were 19,946 cases of dengue, including 53 deaths, reported in the
Philippines. This is 6.49% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=18,730) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 25 April, there were 2,608 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 19 to 25 4 April 2015,
113 dengue cases reported, 26 cases less than the previous week (Figure 4).



Cambodia (no update)
As of 24 March, there were 342 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia for 2015. To
date for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week, following
the seasonal pattern seen in 2014 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 24 April, there were 202 dengue cases and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 18 to 24 April
2015 (week 17), the number of dengue cases reported in Lao was 12. This is higher compared with the number
cases reported in the week 16 (n=8) of 2015 (Figure 6).




Viet Nam
As of 19 April 2015, there were 9,727 cases of dengue including 8 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year, the number of reported cases increased by 23%, and
number of deaths increased by 4 cases. From 13 to 19 April 2015, there were 433 cases of dengue reported
from 29 out of 63 provinces and no deaths. Compared with previous week (n=410 cases, no death), number of
cases increased by 5.6% (Figure 7).

Southern Hemisphere

Australia
As of 30 April, 831 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015. Compared with
the same reporting period of last year (n=816), the number of reported cases is slightly higher, but is consistent
with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).



French Polynesia From 13 to 19 April 2015, 20 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9). There were 11 hospitalisations in April 2015.

Northern Hemisphere
China (no update)
As of 13 April, there were 66 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same period
of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has increased slightly in
2015 (Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 09 May 2015, there were 41, 451 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 34.1% higher
compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=30,921) (Figure 2). From 03 to 09 May 2015, there
were 1,444 cases of dengue reported, 3.1% lower than the same period of the previous week (n=1,490).


Philippines
From 1 January to 18 April 2015, there were 21,962 cases of dengue, including 61 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 7.28% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=20, 472) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 09 May 2015, there were 2,856 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 03 to 09 May 2015, 135 dengue cases reported, 15 cases higher than the previous week (Figure 4).


Cambodia
As of 03 May 2015, there were 617 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia. To date
for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the seasonal pattern seen in 2014 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 08 May, there were 238 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 02 to 08
May 2015 (week 19), 16 cases of dengue reported in Lao. This is lower compared with the number cases
reported in the week 18 (n=20) of 2015 (Figure 6).


Viet Nam
As of 10 May 2015, there were 10,892 cases of dengue including 10 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year, the number of reported cases increased by 21.3%,
and number of deaths increased by 5 cases. From 04 to 10 May 2015, there were 334 cases of dengue
reported from 32 out of 63 provinces including one death. Compared with previous week (n=280 cases, no
death), number of cases increased by 19.3% including 1 death (Figure 7).

Southern Hemisphere
Australia (no update) As of 30 April, 831 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015. Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=816), the number of reported cases is slightly higher, but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


French Polynesia
From 27 April to 10 May 2015, 25 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9).
There were 16 hospitalisations in April 2015.

Northern Hemisphere
China
As of 30 April, there were 20 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same
period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has
increased slightly in 2015(Figure 1).


Malaysia
As of 23 May 2015, there were 45,070 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 35% higher
compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=33,456) (Figure 2). From 17 to 23 May 2015, there
were 1,944 cases of dengue reported, 16% higher than the cases reported in the previous week (n=1,675).


Philippines
From 1 January to 2 May 2015, there were 24,075 cases of dengue, including 65 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 8.53% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=22,182)

Singapore
As of 23 May 2015, there were 3,130 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 17 to 23 May
2015, 110 dengue cases reported, 48 cases lower than the previous week



Cambodia
As of 12 May 2015, there were 704 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia. To date
for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the seasonal pattern seen in 2014

Lao PDR
As of 22 May, there were 261 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015.
From 16 to 22 May 2015 (week 21), 11 cases of dengue were reported.
This is lower compared with the number cases reported in the week 18 (n=20) of 2015


Viet Nam
As of 17 May 2015, there were 11,389 cases of dengue including 10 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared to same reporting period in 2014, number of cases increased by 21.4% and number of deaths
increased by 4 cases. From 11 to 17 May 2015, there were 408 cases of dengue reported with no deaths
from 33 out of 63 provinces

China
As of 30 May, there were 26 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same
period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has
increased slightly in 2015(Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 30 May 2015, there were 47,112 cases of dengue reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 34% higher
compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=35,070) (Figure 2). From 24 to 30 May 2015, there
were 2,042 cases of dengue reported, 5% higher than the cases reported in the previous week (n=1,944).


Philippines
From 1 January to 30 May 2015, there were 28,600 cases of dengue, including 86 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 6.33% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=26,897) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 06 June 2015, there were 3,452 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 31 May to 06
June 2015, 152 dengue cases reported, 28 cases lower than the previous week (Figure 4)


Cambodia (No update)
As of 12 May 2015, there were 704 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia. To date
for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the seasonal pattern seen in 2014 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 05 June, there were 304 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 30 May
to 05 June 2015 (week 23), 26 cases of dengue were reported. This is higher compared with the number
cases reported in the week 22 (n=17) of 2015 (Figure 6).


Viet Nam
As of 7 June 2015, there were 13,049 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in Viet Nam. Compared
to same reporting period in 2014, number of cases increased by 22.8% and number of deaths increased by
5 cases. From 1 to 7 June 2015, there were 508 cases of dengue reported with no deaths (one additional
death was reported from previous week) from 34 out of 63 provinces. Compared with previous week
(n=514 cases), number of cases decreased by 1.2% (Figure 7).

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 May, 1,000 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,014), the number of reported cases is lower,
but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


French Polynesia
From 25 May to 07 June 2015, 24 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9).
There were 19 hospitalisations including six severe cases.

period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has
increased slightly in 2015(Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 20 June 2015, there were 53,823 cases of dengue with 158 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This
is 34% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=40,208) (Figure 2). From 14 to 20 June
2015, there were 2,348 cases of dengue reported, 8.6% higher than the cases reported in the previous
week (n=2,161).


Philippines (No Update)
From 1 January to 30 May 2015, there were 28,600 cases of dengue, including 86 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 6.33% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=26,897) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 20 June 2015, there were 3,868 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 14 to 20 June
2015, 209 dengue cases reported, 16 cases more than the previous week, and lower than the same
reporting period in 2014(n=506) (Figure 4)


Cambodia
As of 31 May 2015, there were 1119 cases of dengue, including one death, reported in Cambodia. To date
for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the average seasonal pattern during 2009-2014 excluding 2012 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 19 June, there were 304 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 13 to 19
June 2015 (week 25), 60 cases of dengue were reported. This is higher compared with the number cases
reported in the previous week (n=32) of 2015 (Figure 6).



Viet Nam
As of 21 Jun 2015, there were 14,474 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared to the same reporting period in 2014, number of cases increased by 26.8% and number of
deaths increased by 5 cases. From 15 to 21 June 2015, there were 601 cases of dengue reported with no
deaths from 34 out of 63 provinces. Compared with previous week (n=597 cases), number of cases
increased by 0.7%.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia (No Update)
As of 31 May, 1,000 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,014), the number of reported cases is lower,
but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).



French Polynesia
From 08 to 14 June 2015, 27 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9). There
were 19 hospitalisations including 6 severe cases in 2015.

China
As of 30 June, there were 43 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same
period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has
increased slightly in 2015(Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 4 July 2015, there were 59,365 cases of dengue with 165 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is
33.4% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=44,518) (Figure 2). From 28 June to 04
July 2015, there were 2,832 cases of dengue reported, 4.5% higher than the cases reported in the previous
week (n=2,710).


Philippines
From 1 January to 23 June 2015, there were 32,440 cases of dengue, including 105 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 3.44% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=31,362)

Singapore
As of 4 July 2015, there were 4,351 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 28 June to 04
July 2015, 242 dengue cases reported, 1 case more than the previous week, and lower than the same
reporting period in 2014(n=672).

As of 23 June 2015, there were 1,900 cases of dengue, including seven deaths, reported in Cambodia. To
date for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the average seasonal pattern during 2009-2014 excluding 2012

Lao PDR
As of 3 July, there were 492 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 27 June to
3 July 2015 (week 27), 48 cases of dengue were reported. This is the same compared with the number
cases reported in the previous week (n=48) of 2015


Viet Nam
As of 5 July 2015, there were 16,183 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared to same reporting period in 2014, number of cases increased by 32.6% and number of deaths
increased by 4 cases. From 29 June to 5 July 2015, there were 757 cases of dengue reported with no deaths
from 37 out of 63 provinces. Compared with previous week (n=689 cases), number of cases increased by
9.9%.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 30 June, 1,089 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,180), the number of reported cases is lower,
but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


French Polynesia
From 22 to 28 June 2015, 9 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9). There
were 5 hospitalisations in 2015.

As of 30 June, there were 43 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same
period of the previous of 2012 to 2014, the number of dengue cases reported in China has
increased slightly in 2015(Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 25 July 2015, there were 67,944 cases of dengue with 185 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This
is 30.7% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=48,845) (Figure 2). From 19 to 25 July
2015, there were 2,549 cases of dengue reported, 7.2% lower than the cases reported in the previous week
(n=2,747).


Philippines
From 1 January to 18 July 2015, there were 40,593 cases of dengue, including 134 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 0.67% lower compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=40,866) (Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 25 July 2015, there were 5,180 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 19-25 July 2015,
294 dengue cases reported, 31 case more than the previous week, and lower than the same reporting
period in 2014(n=744) (Figure 4).

As of 23 June 2015, there were 1,900 cases of dengue, including seven deaths, reported in Cambodia. To
date for 2015, Cambodia has experienced a relatively stable number of new cases reported each week,
following the average seasonal pattern during 2009-2014 excluding 2012 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 17 July, there were 589 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 11 to 17
July 2015, 55 cases of dengue were reported, which is 31% more than that of the previous week (n=42)
(Figure 6). There is no alert for country level for the week ending 17 July 2015.


Viet Nam
As of 19 July 2015, there were 18,4329 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in 2015. Compared to
same reporting period in 2014, number of cases increased by 38.8% and number of deaths increased by 4
cases. From 12 to 19 July 2015, there were 961 cases of dengue reported with no deaths from 37 out of 63
provinces. Compared with previous week (n=886 cases), number of cases increased by 8.5%. However,
compared to the data for period from 2010-2014, the average cumulative number of cases in 2015 is still
lower.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia (No Update)
As of 30 June, 1,089 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,180), the number of reported cases is lower,
but is consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


Pacific Islands
French Polynesia
From 6 to 12 July 2015, 10 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9). There
were 9 hospitalizations and one severe dengue case in June 2015.

Samoa
On 9 July 2015, Samoa confirmed a dengue fever outbreak due to dengue virus serotype 3. As of 13 July
215, a total of 63 Dengue-Like Illness (DLI) cases with no death have been reported (Figure 10).



American Samoa
As of 23 July 2015, 140 confirmed cases, 50 hospitalizations and 4 deaths have been reported. The
outbreak enters its eighth week.

Northern Hemisphere

China (No Update)
As of 30 June 2015, there were 43 cases of dengue reported in China for 2015. Compared with the same
reporting period of the previous three years, the number of dengue cases reported in China has increased
slightly in 2015 (Figure 1).

Malaysia
As of 1 August 2015, there were 70,680 cases of dengue with 190 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015.
This is 28.6% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=54,976) (Figure 2). From 26 July
to 1 August 2015, there were 2,736 cases of dengue reported, 7.3% higher than the cases reported in the
previous week (n=2,549).


Philippines (No Update)
From 1 January to 18 July 2015, there were 40,593 cases of dengue, including 134 deaths, reported in

Singapore
As of 1 August 2015, there were 5,422 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 26 July to 1
August 2015, 251 dengue cases reported, 43 case fewer than the previous week, and lower than the same
reporting period in 2014 (n=891) (Figure 4).


Cambodia
As of 28 July 2015, there were 4,674 cases of dengue, including 16 deaths, reported in Cambodia. The
number of cases has been steadily increasing; however, the total number of cases is still below that of
2011-2013, up to the same reporting period. (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 31 July, there were 743 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 25 to 31
July 2015, 84 cases of dengue were reported, which is 20% more than that of the previous week (n=70)
(Figure 6). The weekly number of cases was higher than that of 2014, but lower than that of 2011-2013.
There is no alert for country level for the week ending 31 July 2015.


Viet Nam
As of 2 August 2015, there were 21,154 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in Viet Nam for 2015.
Compared with same reporting period in 2014, the number of cases increased by 46.2% and the number of
deaths increased by 3 cases. Compared with same reporting period from 2010-2014 (average), the number
of cases decreased by 33.7% and the number of deaths decreased by 50.6%. From 27 July to 2 August 2015,
there were 1,177 cases of dengue reported with no deaths from 41 out of 63 provinces. Compared with
previous week (n=1,090 cases), number of cases increased by 8.0%.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 July, 1,178 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,311), the number of reported cases was lower,
and was consistent with previous seasonal trends (Figure 8).


Pacific Islands
French Polynesia
From 27 July to 2 August 2015, 23 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia including 3
cases which were dengue serotype 1 (Figure 9). There were 10 hospitalizations and 3 severe dengue cases
in July 2015.

Samoa
An Outbreak is occurring in Samoa (dengue serotype-3). Samoa has reported a total of 220 cases of Dengue
Like Illness (DLI) including 15 hospitalizations as of 2 August. Most cases were under 25 years of age. No
deaths have been reported.

American Samoa
An Outbreak is occurring in American Samoa (dengue serotype-3). As of 6 August 2015, 238 suspected
cases, 75 hospitalizations and 4 deaths have been reported. The outbreak enters its tenth week.

Update on the Dengue situation in the Western Pacific Region

Northern Hemisphere
China
As of 31 July 2015, there were 285 cases of dengue reported in China. From 1 July to 31 July 2015, 130
dengue cases were reported. An increase of cases in the month of July is similar to the previous three
years.(Figure 1)

Malaysia
As of 15 August 2015, there were 75,795 cases of dengue with 212 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015.
This is 26.8% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=59,790) (Figure 2). From 9 to 15
August 2015, there were 2,532 cases of dengue reported, 2% lower than the number of cases reported in
the previous week (n=2,583).


Philippines
From 1 January to 1 August 2015, there were 48,872 suspected cases of dengue, including 162 deaths,
reported in Philippines. This is 4.03% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=46,980)
(Figure 3).

Singapore
As of 15 August 2015, there were 5,868 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 9 August to
15 August 2015, 221 dengue cases were reported, 5 cases fewer than the previous week, and lower than
the same reporting period in 2013 and 2014.(Figure 4).


Cambodia
As of 3 August 2015, there were 5,274 cases of dengue, including 16 deaths, reported in Cambodia. The
number of cases has been steadily increasing; however, the total number of cases is still following seasonal
trend of 2011 and 2013. (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 14 August, there were 892 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 8 to
14 July 2015, 71 cases of dengue cases were reported and cases reported weekly have been decreasing
(Figure 6). There is no alert for country level for the week ending 14 August 2015


Viet Nam
As of 16 August 2015, there were 24,968 cases of dengue including 12 deaths reported in Viet Nam for
2015. Compared to same reporting period in 2014, the number of cases is 54.8% higher. Compared to same
reporting period for the period from 2010-2014 (average), number of cases is 27.9% lower and number of
deaths is 54.5% lower.
From 10 to 16 August 2015, there were 1,633 cases of dengue reported with no death cases. Compared
with the previous week (n=1,375 cases), the number of cases increased by 18.8%(Figure7).

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 July, 1,201 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Australia for 2015.
Compared with the same reporting period of last year (n=1,309), the number of reported cases was
consistent with previous years and follows seasonal trends (Figure 8).


Pacific Islands
French Polynesia
In week 33, 26 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia including 8 cases which were
dengue serotype1 (Figure 9). There were 8 hospitalizations and 2 severe dengue cases in August 2015.

Samoa (No update)
An Outbreak is occurring in Samoa (dengue serotype-3) and the outbreak is ongoing. Samoa has reported a
total of 220 cases of Dengue Like Illness (DLI) including 15 hospitalizations as of 7 August. Most cases were
under 25 years of age. No deaths have been reported.

American Samoa
An outbreak is occurring in American Samoa (dengue serotype-3) and the outbreak is ongoing. As of 11
August 2015, 281 suspected cases, 89 hospitalizations have been reported since May 2015.

Northern Hemisphere
China
As of 31 August, there were 438 cases of dengue reported in 2015 for China. From 1 to 31 August 2015,
153 dengue cases were reported. Number of cases in the month of August in 2015 has increased, however
was lower than the same period of 2014 and 2013. (Figure 1)

Malaysia
As of 12 September, there were 85,488 cases of dengue with 234 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015.
This is 21.5% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=70,337) (Figure 2). From 6 to 12
September 2015, there were 2,604 cases of dengue reported, 17% higher than the number of cases
reported in the previous week (n=2,230). Weekly dengue cases has been decreasing for the eight
consecutive week. In August 2015, DENV-1 has been the dominant serotype(60%).


Philippines(no update)
From 1 January to 22 August 2015, there were 65,421 suspected cases of dengue, including 193 deaths,
reported in Philippines. This is 10.2% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=59,386)
(Figure 3). ). From 16 to 22 August 2015 (week 33), there were 408 suspected cases of dengue reported,
80% lower than the number of cases reported in the previous week (n=2,047). All four DENV serotypes
have been detected in 2015. (NOTE: Case counts reported here do not represent the final number and will
change after inclusion of delayed reports)

Singapore
As of 19 September 2015, there were 7136 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 13
September to 19 September 2015, 303 dengue cases were reported, 85 cases more than the previous week
and highest number of weekly cases thus far this year (Figure 4).

As of 3 August 2015, there were 5,274 cases of dengue, including 16 deaths, reported in Cambodia. The
number of cases has been steadily increasing; however, the total number of cases is still following seasonal
trend of 2011 and 2013 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 11 September, there were 1,183 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From
5 to 11 September 2015, 57 dengue cases were reported, the same as the previous week (Figure 6). There
is no country level alert for the week ending 11 September 2015.


Viet Nam
As of 13 September 2015, there were 36,097 cases of dengue including 23 deaths reported in Viet Nam for
2015. Compared to the same reporting period in 2014, the number of cases is 85.1% higher, and number of
deaths has increased by 4 cases. Compared to same reporting period for the period from 2010-2014
(average), the number of cases is 20.5% lower and the number of deaths is 44.8% lower.
The number of cases increased by 12.9% in the week ending 13 September 2015 (n=2,532) compared to
the previous week (n=2,243) from 42 out of 63 provinces (Figure7).

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 August, there were 1,305 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases in Australia for 2015. Compared with
the same reporting period of last year (n=1,397), the number of reported cases was consistent with
previous years and follows seasonal trends (Figure 8).


Pacific Islands Countries and Areas
French Polynesia
In the week ending 13 September 2015, 26 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia
(Figure 9). There was 1 hospitalization since 1 September 2015.

Samoa
As of 8 September, there were 630 cases of Dengue Like Illness (DLI) in Samoa for 2015. Weekly
case numbers have been in decline in the last 3 weeks of August 2015.

American Samoa
A dengue outbreak is ongoing in American Samoa (DENV-3). As of 13 September, there were 422 cases
since May 2015 and 11 new cases were reported in the past week ending 13 September.

China (No Update)
As of 31 August, there were 438 cases of dengue reported in 2015 for China. From 1 to 31 August 2015,

As of 26 September, there were 89,744 cases of dengue with 244 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015.
This is 20.7% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=74,335) (Figure 2). From 20 to 26
September 2015, there were 1,934 cases of dengue reported, 17% lower than the number of cases
reported in the previous week (n=2,322). Weekly dengue cases have been decreasing. In August 2015,
DENV-1 has been the dominant serotype(60%).


Philippines
From 1 January to 5 September 2015, there were 78,808 suspected cases of dengue, including 233 deaths,
reported in Philippines. This is 16.5% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=67,637)
(Figure 3). ). From 30 August to 5 September 2015 (week 35), there were 515 suspected cases of dengue
reported. All four DENV serotypes have been detected in 2015.(NOTE: Case counts reported here do not
represent the final number and will change after inclusion of delayed reports)

Singapore
As of 2 October 2015, there were 7,323 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 27
September to 2 October 2015, 208 dengue cases were reported, 6 cases less than the previous week
(Figure 4).

As of 27 September, there have been 773 cases since 11 June 2015 including thirteen cases in the
last week. The weekly number of cases is decreasing. Dengue serotype-3 has been identified.

American Samoa
As of 20 September there have been 435 cases reported in American Samoa since 5 May 2015 including
140 hospitalisations. The weekly number of cases is decreasing. Dengue serotype-3 has been identified.

As of 30 September, there were 1917 cases of dengue reported in 2015 for China, with majority of the
cases being reported during September. From 1 to 30 September 2015, 1479 dengue cases were reported.
The number of cases in the month of September in 2015 has increased, however was lower than the same
period of 2014. (Figure 1)

Malaysia
As of 17 October, there were 96,222 cases of dengue with 263 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is
19.4% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=80,578) (Figure 2). From 11 to 17
October 2015, there were 2,158 cases of dengue reported, 4.0% less than the number of cases reported in
the previous week (n=2,078). Weekly dengue cases have been decreasing. Since May 2015, DENV-1 has
been the dominant serotype (60%) as of 6 Oct 2015.


Philippines
From 1 January to 3 October 2015, there were 108,263 suspected cases of dengue, including 317 deaths,
reported in Philippines. This is 31.9% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=82,049)
(Figure 3). From 27 September to 3 October 2015 (week 39), there were 806 suspected cases of dengue
reported. All four DENV serotypes have been detected in 2015.(NOTE: Case counts reported here do not

As of 30 September 2015, there were 35,235 cases of dengue in Viet Nam for 2015. The number of cases is 21.1%
lower compared to the average of same reporting period from 2010-2014. The number of cases is 42.5% higher
compared to the previous month (n=24,725) from 47 out of 63 provinces (Figure7).

number of cases in the month of October in 2015 has remained similar to case numbers reported in the previous
month and considerably lower than the number of cases reported in 2014, for the same reporting period.

As of 21 November, there were 107,079 cases of dengue with 293 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is
17.7% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=91,002). From 15 to 21 November 2015,
there were 2,169 cases of dengue reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=2,109).


Philippines
As of 31 October 2015, there were 142,227 suspected cases of dengue, including 411 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 48.6% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=95,718) (Figure 3). From
25 to 31 October 2015 (week 43), there were 675 suspected cases of dengue reported. All four DENV serotypes

November 2015, 254 dengue cases were reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=198) (Figure 4).

20 November 2015, 51 dengue cases were reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=38) (Figure 6).
There is no country level alert for the week ending 20 November 2015.

As of 31 October 2015, there were 58,633 cases of dengue, including 42 deaths, reported in 52 out of 63
provinces in Viet Nam. The number of cases reported in 2015 is higher than cases reported in 2014, for the same
reporting period. However, the cumulative number of cases is less than the median in 2010-2014, for the same
reporting period (Figure 7). In October, there were 18,754 cases reported including 10 deaths. Compared to
September (12,771 cases and 12 deaths), the number of cases reported increased by 46.8%.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 31 October, there were 1,502 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases in Australia for 2015. In 2015, 77 cases
were reported in October. This is higher than the same reporting period of last year (n=72). The number of
reported cases was consistent with previous years (n=1,532) and follows seasonal trend (Figure 8).

In the week ending 22 November 2015, 17 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9).
Five hospitalizations were reported in the month of November.

As of 22 November 2015, 477 cases have been reported since June 2015 including 147 hospitalizations. In the

Northern Hemisphere
China
As of 30 November, there were 3,822 cases of dengue reported in 2015 for China, with majority of the cases
being reported during September and October 2015. From 1 to 30 November 2015, 470 dengue cases were
reported. The number of cases in the month of November in 2015 has decreased threefold compared to case
numbers reported in the previous month and considerably lower than the number of cases reported in 2014, for
the same reporting period. (Figure 1)

Malaysia
As of 5 December 2015, there were 111,285 cases of dengue with 301 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015.
This is 16.3% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014 (n=95,693). From 29 November to
5 December 2015, there were 2,119 cases of dengue reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=2,087).


Philippines
As of 21 November 2015, there were 169,435 suspected cases of dengue, including 511 deaths, reported in
Philippines. This is 59.5% higher compared with the same reporting period in 2014 (n=106,241) (Figure 3). From
15 to 21 November 2015 (week 46), there were 548 suspected cases of dengue reported. (NOTE: Case counts
reported here do not represent the final number and will change after inclusion of delayed reports)

Singapore
As of 5 December 2015, there were 9,782 cases of dengue reported in Singapore for 2015. From 29 November
to 5 December 2015, 261 dengue cases were reported, which is lower than the previous week (n=285) (Figure 4).



Cambodia
As of 17 November 2015, there were 14,005 cases of dengue, including 35 deaths, reported in Cambodia.
The number of cases is decreasing and it follows seasonal trend between 2011 and 2013 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR (no update)
As of 20 November, there were 1,730 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 14 to
20 November 2015, 51 dengue cases were reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=38) (Figure 6).
There is no country level alert for the week ending 20 November 2015.



Viet Nam (no update)
As of 31 October 2015, there were 58,633 cases of dengue, including 42 deaths, reported in 52 out of
63 provinces in Viet Nam. The number of cases reported in 2015 is higher than cases reported in 2014, for the
same reporting period. However, the cumulative number of cases is less than the median in 2010-2014, for the
same reporting period (Figure 7). In October, there were 18,754 cases reported including 10 deaths. Compared
to September (12,771 cases and 12 deaths), the number of cases reported increased by 46.8%.

Southern Hemisphere
Australia
As of 30 November 2015, there were 1,563 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases in Australia. In 2015, 47 cases
were reported in November. This is lower than the same reporting period of last year (n=82). The number of
reported cases was consistent with previous years (n=1,614) and follows seasonal trend (Figure 8).



Pacific Islands Countries and Areas
French Polynesia
In the week ending 29 November 2015, 24 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9).
Dengue virus serotype-1 has been identified in circulation.

Papua New Guinea
There is currently a dengue virus serotype-2 outbreak in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG) as
confirmed by the Institute of Medical Research, PNG.

December 2015, 333 dengue cases were reported, which is lower than the previous week (n=357) (Figure
4).


Cambodia
As of 15 December 2015, there were 15,015 cases of dengue, including 37 deaths, reported in Cambodia.
The number of cases is decreasing and it follows seasonal trend between 2011 and 2013 (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 18 December, there were 1,912 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From
12 to 18 December 2015, 36 dengue cases were reported, which is lower than the previous week (n=48)
(Figure 6). There is no country level alert for the week ending 18 December 2015.


Viet Nam
As of 30 November 2015, there were 79,912 cases of dengue, including 53 deaths, reported in 53 out of 63
provinces in Viet Nam. The cumulative number of cases reported in 2015 is higher than cases reported in
2014 for the same reporting period and is also higher than the median in 2010-2014 for the same period
(Figure 7). In November, there were 20,910 cases reported including 10 deaths. Compared to October
(18,754 cases and 10 deaths), the number of cases reported increased by 11.5%.

As of 30 November 2015, there were 1,595 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases in Australia. In 2015, 69
cases were reported in November. This is lower than the same reporting period of last year (n=82). The
number of reported cases was consistent with previous years (n=1,614) and follows seasonal trend (Figure
8).


Pacific Islands Countries and Areas
French Polynesia (no update)
In the week ending 29 November 2015, 24 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia
(Figure 9). Dengue virus serotype-1 has been identified in circulation.

reported with no associated deaths. The number of cases in the month of December decreased sevenfold
compared to the number reported in the previous month (n=470) and lower than the number of cases
reported in December 2014 (n=180) (Figure 1).

Singapore
A total of 11,298 cases of dengue have been reported in Singapore for 2015 (data up to week 52 ending 2
January 2016), 61% lower than the number of cases reported in 2014 (n=18,168) for the same reporting
period. From 27 December 2015 to 2 January 2016, 459 dengue cases were reported, higher than the
previous week (n=372) and higher than the number reported for the same period in each of the last four
years (2011-2014) (Figure 4). From November 2015, weekly case numbers have continued to increase in a
trend that is not expected for the season.


Cambodia
As of 29 December 2015, there were 15,412 cases of dengue, including 38 deaths [CFR=0.2%], reported in
Cambodia. The number of cases is decreasing and it follows a similar trend to that observed in 2011 to 2014.
In the week ending 29 December 2015, there were 183 cases reported, which is higher than the previous
week (n=65) (Figure 5).

Lao PDR
As of 25 December, there were 1,952 cases of dengue and no deaths reported in Lao PDR for 2015. From 19
to 25 December 2015, 40 dengue cases were reported, which is higher than the previous week (n=36)
(Figure 6). There is no country level alert for the week ending 25 December 2015.


Viet Nam (no update)
As of 30 November 2015, there were 79,912 cases of dengue, including 53 deaths, reported in 53 out of 63

French Polynesia (no update)
In the week ending 29 November 2015, 24 confirmed dengue cases were reported in French Polynesia (Figure 9).
