WHO criticizes Senegal closing its border with Guinea

I believe Senegal is being unfairly criticized for making this decision. They have stated that they will allow humanitarian shipments in. I think it's easy for WHO, safe in their headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland to tell African countries how to respond to this crisis. This "holier than thou" attitude does not engender a sense of trust with the affected countries. Sorry for this diatribe but their attitude riles me up a little. WHO does not have all the answers.

I think they will have trouble getting any help within the affected countries as well Gemineye, just because this is so scary. It's all very well talking about it but a whole other thing to actually go in there.

Countries have military health teams, highly trained (in view of percieved terrorist threats) that could be ordered in, without having to rely on volounteers from the private sector. This is a war we are engaged in, so it would be appropriate.

People most likely to respond on a volountary basis from the private sector are already volunteering at MSF etc. More help cannot come from this direction.
