WHO/Europe headquarters in Copenhagen closed again after flooding

The WHO/Europe headquarters in Copenhagen are closed, as of Monday, 15 August 2011, until further notice after parts of the office were flooded following rains on the evening of Sunday, 14 August.
All staff members in Copenhagen have been asked to work from home at least for the initial two days.
As a result of the flooding, the power supply is disrupted, but telephone and e-mail services continue to operate.
Preparations for the 61<SUP>st</SUP> session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe are on track and continue without disruption.
The emergency team is working around the clock to ensure that all operations will resume as soon as possible. Experts are assessing the safety of the buildings. Staff are requested to check the intranet regularly for further updates.
The WHO/Europe premises were flooded recently at the beginning of July after heavy rainfall in Copenhagen.
