Guanajuato is preparing to be the first entity of the Mexican Republic to be declared "free of H1N1 influenza" by the World Health Organization (0ms), with the backing of the federal government, said the state health secretary, Jorge Armando Aguirre Torres.
In a year of the pandemic in Guanajuato were 2,032 cases of H1N1, 31 of these patients died, the last six months.
"On 19 October last death occurred in Guanajuato, regrettably in other states are dying from H1N1," said Aguirre.
WHO assessed that patients have come in time to health services and is the state where more people are vaccinated at the national level, towards their people, with 925 000 doses.
The official stressed that the infrastructure was strengthened with an investment of 340 million pesos in laboratories and hospitals.
It has a molecular biology laboratory of international standing, equipment and all health personnel were trained in the knowledge of the disease, careful measures were disseminated to the population and society lifestyle has taken against influenza, said.
