Woman hospitalized with suspected influenza H1N1 in Ribeirao Preto

An old woman of 64 years is admitted in Ribeirao Preto with suspected to have contracted the H1N1 flu.

The patient is three days ago in isolation of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital Beneficencia Portuguesa. The framework of health it is stable. The tests carried out to confirm the disease were forwarded to the Adolfo Lutz Institute and the result should leave in a week.

According to the City of Ribeirao, until the month of October this year, the city has recorded two positive cases of the disease. (EPTV)

An old woman of 64 years died with suspicion of avian influenza H1N1 in Ribeirao Preto. The woman was in the isolation of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital Beneficencia Portuguesa since day 2 December and died on the last Sunday (7). According to a spokesperson for the town hall, the exams that can confirm the disease still were not ready. The material was sent to the Adolfo Lutz Institute.

Yet, according to the city, until the month of October the city recorded 65 cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome severe. Two of these cases were positive for H1N1.
