Woman with still-born child dies of swine flu
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 5 A 21-year-old woman, who delivered a still-born child yesterday in a government hospital here, were among the two persons who died of H1N1 flu in Kerala today as the toll in the disease rose to eight.
A 38-year-old woman, Latha Soman, also died at a private hospital in Kochi.
According to Health Department sources, Pushpalatha was admitted to the Government SAT hospital on September 22. She had been suffering from high blood pressure in the last few days and was moved to the critical care unit of the maternity wing of the hospital. Her serum samples were sent for testing and the results confirmed that she had H1N1 infection, the sources said.
Meanwhile, nine new cases of H1N1 was reported from different parts of the state today. Of the new cases, seven were from Thiruvananthapuram and two from Pathanamthitta, sources said. - (Agencies)
