Bogot?, May 5 (EFE) .- Colombia confirmed on Tuesday 640 new cases of COVID-19, a daily record, and reached a total of 8,613 infections, while registering 20 more deaths, with which the number of fatalities it amounted to 378, according to the Ministry of Health.

On the day, in which 4,076 tests were processed, there were 194 infected in Bogot?, followed by the departments of Meta (152), Atl?ntico (111), Nari?o (46), Valle del Cauca (38), Bol?var (32), Magdalena (14) and Caldas (12).

The rest of the cases are in Cesar (8), Caquet? (6), Cundinamarca (5), Cauca and La Guajira (4); Quind?o, Antioquia and Huila (3); Boyac? (2) and Choc?, Norte de Santander and Amazonas (1).

According to the Ministry of Health, this growth is due to an "active search in 27 conglomerates in 13 territories", which are the departments of Meta, Amazonas, Caquet?, Tolima, Nari?o, Magdalena, Antioquia, Atl?ntico, Valle del Cauca and Risaralda, and in the cities of Barranquilla, Bogot? and Santa Marta.

The health authority also reported that 206 people overcame the disease, bringing the number of recovered to 2,013.

The main focus of the pandemic in Colombia is Bogot?, with 3,272, infected, while there are also high numbers in Valle del Cauca (1,135), Meta (717), Atl?ntico (641), Antioquia (451), Bol?var (405), Cundinamarca (259), Magdalena (256), Nari?o (247), Amazonas (230), Risaralda (211) and Huila (137).

CONTAGIUMS SHOT IN A JAIL

Of the 152 cases reported today in the central department of Meta, 149 correspond to the Villavicencio prison, where there are already 657 positives for COVID-19.

"We just received a report from the National Institute of Health (INS), 149 positive cases, all related to the Villavicencio prison," said Meta Governor Juan Guillermo Zuluaga.

The situation in the Villavicencio prison is alarming because it became the main individual focus of COVID-19 in the country, and the 657 infected in that prison exceed the majority of the Colombian departments, so that only 3,272 of Bogot? and the 1,135 of the Valle del Cauca.

The number of deaths also continues to rise in the country and of the twenty today, twelve occurred in departments on the Atlantic coast.

Bogot? had four cases, the same number as Barranquilla, capital of the Atlantic, while neighboring Santa Marta, capital of Magdalena, accounted for three, and Cartagena de Indias, two.

Two other deaths were registered in the department of Cesar, in Valledupar, the capital, and in San Mart?n, while one occurred in the town of San Juan del Cesar (La Guajira).

The remaining four deaths took place in Pasto and Tumaco, both cities of Nari?o, one in Leticia (Amazonas) and the other in Uni?n Panamericana (Choc?). EFE

Colombia reaches 10,495 cases of contagion by coronavirus

A new report delivered this Saturday, May 9, the Ministry of Health regarding the number of infected, victims and patients recovered by coronavirus in Colombia. According to the report, 444 new cases of infection and 17 deaths were reported.

The 444 new cases were reported in: Bogot? (210), Meta (63), Valle del Cauca (57), Cartagena (45), Atl?ntico (29), Barranquilla (11), Nari?o (9), Caldas (6), Norte de Santander (3), Amazonas (3), Antioquia (2), Risaralda (2), Cundinamarca (2), Santander (1) and Cesar (1).

On the other hand, Bogot? has reached 4,028 cases of coronavirus. The Ministry of Health has reiterated that the great increase in coronavirus cases in recent days has been due to the fact that tests are being carried out in conglomerates, that is, in places where people cannot maintain social distance and, furthermore, the virus is active.

The Ministry of Health confirmed this Monday 16 more deaths in Colombia from covid-19. With this update, the number of deaths in the country amounts to 479.

According to the health authorities, the new deaths correspond to a 91-year-old man in Cali, with lymphoma, HT, diabetes and obesity; a 67-year-old man in Bogot?, with HT, diabetes and coronary heart disease; a 59-year-old man in Bogot?, with diabetes, HT; a 70-year-old woman in Cali, with HTA; a 68-year-old man in Cali, with diabetes, and a 76-year-old woman in Bogot?, with Epoc.

This report from the health authorities indicates that to date there are 2,825 patients who have recovered throughout the country (1,380 men and 1,445 women). Of that total, 2,779 are already at home. The remaining 43 remain hospitalized, according to the National Institute of Health (INS), for other comorbidities.

On the other hand, of the total confirmed cases in the country (11,613), 832 are imported, 3,576 are related and 7,205 are cases 'under study', which means that, for the moment, the transmission chain is unknown. It is also known that 6,576 correspond to male patients and 5,037 to female patients.

In addition, of the total active cases (8,185), according to the INS and the Minsalud, 7,580 are in their homes, while 604 are receiving care in medical centers. The remaining case is hospitalized in an intensive care unit (ICU).

The Ministry of Health confirmed this Tuesday 14 more deaths in Colombia from covid-19. With this update, the number of deaths in the country amounts to 493.

According to the health authorities, the new deaths correspond to a 67-year-old woman in Tumaco, with HT and diabetes; a 67-year-old man in Cali, with chronic kidney failure; a 74-year-old man in Buenaventura, with HTA and smoking; a 48-year-old woman in Cali, with pulmonary hypertension, hypertension, heart failure, chronic pulmonary thromboembolism, cardiorenal syndrome, and severe protein malnutrition; a 74-year-old woman in Tumaco, with coronary heart disease, and a 74-year-old man in Tumaco, with HTA and Epoc.

(258), Cartagena (79), Atl?ntico (64), Valle (48), Barranquilla (38 ), Nari?o (32), Amazonas (25), Cundinamarca (19), Magdalena (19), San Andr?s (15), Meta (9), Antioquia (7), Choc? With this update, the country reaches 12,272 confirmed infections, distributed in 34 departments and districts of the country. Bogot? is the city with the most cases. Thus, the capital reaches 4,563 infections. Regarding deceased and recovered persons, it registers 155 and 1,197, respectively.

Other critical points are the department of Amazonas, where there are currently 743 confirmed infections, 26 deaths and 9 recovered, and Valle del Cauca, where the number of infections reached 1,336, while the number of deaths is 78 and the of recovered in 412.

This report from the health authorities indicates that to date there are 2,971 patients who have recovered throughout the country. Of that number, 2,926 are already at home and another 42 remain hospitalized, according to the National Institute of Health (INS), for other comorbidities.

On the other hand, of the total of confirmed cases in the country (12,272), 835 are imported, 3,738 are related and 7,699 are cases 'under study', which means that, for the moment, the transmission chain is unknown. It is also known that 6,660 correspond to male patients and 5,293 to female patients.

In addition, of the total active cases (8,801), according to the INS and the Minsalud, 8,015 are in their homes, while 657 are receiving care in medical centers. The remaining 129 cases are hospitalized in an intensive care unit (ICU).

On the afternoon of this Wednesday, May 13, the Ministry of Health reported 658 new cases of coronavirus in the country, amounting to 12,930 those infected in Colombia.

The new cases were identified in: Amazonas (128), Bogot? (122), Barranquilla (111), Cartagena (107), Valle (63), Atl?ntico (33), Risaralda (1), Antioquia (10), Vaup?s (9 ), Magdalena (8), Boyac? (8), Quind?o (7), Santa Marta (6), Bol?var (5), Choc? (5), La Guajira (4), Casanare (4), Meta (3), Huila (2), Cundinamarca (2), Caquet? (2), Tolima (1) and Cauca (1).

On the other hand, Minsalud indicated that 6,805 tests were processed today and that there are already 3,133 people recovered from the virus throughout the national territory.

Cartagena and Bol?var

The coronavirus continues to spread in Cartagena. This Tuesday 107 new cases were identified, bringing the number of infected to 875.

Bol?var's figures also moved. In the last hours, five new infected people were reported, which add to the 56 previously reported. In addition, the death of a 78-year-old woman in Santa Rosa was confirmed.

In the latest report of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, published on the afternoon of Thursday, May 14, 680 new cases of coronaviruses were confirmed in the country, 225 recovered and 16 deceased. With these figures, Colombia reached 13,610 infected, 3,358 recovered and a total of 525 deaths. The country is in another stage of Mandatory Preventive Isolation that will run until the 25th of the same month.

Bogot? is the most affected city with 4,892 infected. Then there are Valle del Cauca with 1,557 positives and Atl?ntico with 1,383. The departments with the least infections are Putumayo with 2 and Arauca with 1.

This is how COVID-19 cases are distributed

Colombia has cases in 29 of its 32 departments. Only Guain?a, Guaviare and Vichada do not have infected at the moment and that is why they have been the first to resume some economic activities. In addition, in South America the number of infections has already exceeded 315,000 and there are more than 17,000 deaths. Brazil, Ecuador and Peru are the most affected countries in this part of the continent.

Colombia, in another stage of Isolation

Colombia is advancing a new stage of Mandatory Preventive Isolation decreed by the National Government and which will run until May 25. Colombia reaches 15,574 cases of coronavirus
The country registers 635 new infections and 12 deaths this Sunday.


Colombia overcame the barrier of 15,000 covid-19 infections this Sunday. The latest report from the Ministry of Health reports 15,574 cases nationwide, where Bogot?, Valle del Cauca and Atl?ntico are the areas with the highest number of patients suffering from the virus.

Bogot?, May 20 (EFE) .- Colombia reached a daily record of COVID-19 infections on Wednesday with 752 cases that brought the country's total to 17,687, while the death toll rose to 630, with 17 deaths, almost the half of which took place in Cartagena de Indias.
A third of the infections confirmed today are in Bogot? (253), and the rest in the departments of Atl?ntico (124), Amazonas (91), Valle del Cauca and Bol?var (89), Nari?o (30), Antioquia (12) , Meta (9), Huila and Choc? (7); Cundinamarca, Caldas, Boyac? and Magdalena (6); C?rdoba and Quind?o (3); Tolima, Santander, Norte de Santander and Cauca (2); Cesar, Sucre and Casanare (1).
Despite the mandatory quarantine in force in Colombia since March 25, the expansion of the coronavirus has been increasing throughout the country and for more than a week the daily number of infections has not dropped below 600, while deaths They range between 15 and 20 on each day.
Of the 17 deaths recorded today, eight occurred in the tourist Cartagena de Indias, a city that became one of the main outbreaks of the disease in the country, with 1,543 infected and 81 dead.

Colombia recorded a new daily record in coronavirus cases

Bogot?, May 25 (EFE) .- Colombia served two months in quarantine for the coronavirus on Monday, a day in which it added 806 new cases of the disease, for a total of 21,981, while 23 deaths increased to 750 fatalities.

According to the Ministry of Health, 175 of the new cases are in Bogot?, followed by the department of Antioquia, with 141, just the day that Medell?n, its capital, began a pilot test for the reopening of shopping centers after 60 days closed.

There were also new infections in Nari?o (78), Cundinamarca (72), Valle del Cauca (65), Amazonas (55), Atl?ntico (80), Bol?var (39), Tolima (36), Choc?
