Bogot?, May 5 (EFE) .- Colombia confirmed on Tuesday 640 new cases of COVID-19, a daily record, and reached a total of 8,613 infections, while registering 20 more deaths, with which the number of fatalities it amounted to 378, according to the Ministry of Health.
On the day, in which 4,076 tests were processed, there were 194 infected in Bogot?, followed by the departments of Meta (152), Atl?ntico (111), Nari?o (46), Valle del Cauca (38), Bol?var (32), Magdalena (14) and Caldas (12).
The rest of the cases are in Cesar (8), Caquet? (6), Cundinamarca (5), Cauca and La Guajira (4); Quind?o, Antioquia and Huila (3); Boyac? (2) and Choc?, Norte de Santander and Amazonas (1).
According to the Ministry of Health, this growth is due to an "active search in 27 conglomerates in 13 territories", which are the departments of Meta, Amazonas, Caquet?, Tolima, Nari?o, Magdalena, Antioquia, Atl?ntico, Valle del Cauca and Risaralda, and in the cities of Barranquilla, Bogot? and Santa Marta.
The health authority also reported that 206 people overcame the disease, bringing the number of recovered to 2,013.
The main focus of the pandemic in Colombia is Bogot?, with 3,272, infected, while there are also high numbers in Valle del Cauca (1,135), Meta (717), Atl?ntico (641), Antioquia (451), Bol?var (405), Cundinamarca (259), Magdalena (256), Nari?o (247), Amazonas (230), Risaralda (211) and Huila (137).

Of the 152 cases reported today in the central department of Meta, 149 correspond to the Villavicencio prison, where there are already 657 positives for COVID-19.
"We just received a report from the National Institute of Health (INS), 149 positive cases, all related to the Villavicencio prison," said Meta Governor Juan Guillermo Zuluaga.
The situation in the Villavicencio prison is alarming because it became the main individual focus of COVID-19 in the country, and the 657 infected in that prison exceed the majority of the Colombian departments, so that only 3,272 of Bogot? and the 1,135 of the Valle del Cauca.
The number of deaths also continues to rise in the country and of the twenty today, twelve occurred in departments on the Atlantic coast.
Bogot? had four cases, the same number as Barranquilla, capital of the Atlantic, while neighboring Santa Marta, capital of Magdalena, accounted for three, and Cartagena de Indias, two.
Two other deaths were registered in the department of Cesar, in Valledupar, the capital, and in San Mart?n, while one occurred in the town of San Juan del Cesar (La Guajira).
The remaining four deaths took place in Pasto and Tumaco, both cities of Nari?o, one in Leticia (Amazonas) and the other in Uni?n Panamericana (Choc?). EFE
