Dengue fever is still on the rise

PUTRAJAYA : A total of 1,946 cases were recorded in the second week of January (5 to 12) and it saw a rise of 907 cases.
Health Ministry deputy director general (public health) Datuk Dr Lokman Hakim said the increase in dengue cases in the country must be looked at seriously.
"It is only the second week of January, and the cases are rising. On the first week of the month, 1,039 cases were reported," he said in a statement.
Dr Lokman said in so far, two deaths have been reported in Perak making the cumulative deaths for this year up to six deaths as compared to the same period of the same year, which saw only two deaths...
