As of September 16th, Seven hundred and twenty-five cases of WNV have been found in thirty-eight states and the District of Columbia. Arizona (30), Arkansas (2), California (237), Colorado (41), Connecticut (1), District of Columbia (2), Florida (5), Georgia (6), Idaho (13), Illinois (8), Indiana (3), Iowa (11), Kansas (10), Louisiana (78), Maryland (2), Massachusetts (1), Michigan (1), Minnesota (6), Mississippi (25), Missouri (4), Montana (4), Nebraska (36), Nevada (2), New Jersey (3), New Mexico (5), New York (9), North Dakota (9), Ohio (4), Oklahoma (10), Pennsylvania (3), South Carolina (2), South Dakota (35), Tennessee (5), Texas (91), Utah (1), Virginia (3), Washington (7), Wisconsin (5) and Wyoming (5). Three hundred and ninety-eight cases (54.9%) were neuroinvasive. Twenty-five fatalities have been reported. Arizona (5), California (10), Louisiana (4), Mississippi (3), Missouri (1), Texas (1) and Wisconsin (1).
One hundred and seventy-one Presumptive Viremic Blood Donors have been reported in twenty-five states. Alabama (2), Arizona (6), California (42), Colorado (5), Connecticut (3), Florida (2), Iowa (3), Kansas (1), Louisiana (12), Maryland (1), Minnesota (6), Mississippi (4), Missouri (2), Nebraska (19), New Mexico (2), New York (3), North Dakota (1), Oklahoma (5), Pennsylvania (1), South Carolina (2), Texas (37), Virginia (1), Washington (2), West Virginia (2) and Wisconsin (7).

California's state website is reporting 12 deaths;

There were 73 new WNV human cases reported in California this week from the following counties: Colusa (1), Fresno (2), Glenn (2), Los Angeles (20), Mendocino (1), Orange (31), Placer (2), Sacramento (3), San Bernardino (3), San Joaquin (1), Santa Clara (1), Shasta (1), Stanislaus (1), Tehama (1), Tulare (2), and Yolo (1). This is the first WNV human case from Yolo County this year. This is the first indication of WNV from Mendocino County this year.
12 WNV-related fatalities have been reported in to CDPH from in eight local health jurisdictions: Glenn (1), Long Beach City (1), Los Angeles (1), Orange (3), Sacramento (1), Shasta (1), Stanislaus (2), and Sutter (2).
