A new outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been detected in Maine-et-Loire , this time in a turkey farm located in Beaupréau-en-Mauges , according to a press release issued by the prefecture on Monday, March 9, 2026.
According to the same source, this confirmation came after the appearance of " suggestive nervous symptoms " followed by "the beginning of mortality " in a building on the farm.
A completely depopulated farm
In response to this discovery , state services indicate that a depopulation operation has been carried out on all the poultry present in the four buildings of the farm .
The prefecture specifies that this operation took place over the weekend . It adds that preliminary disinfection operations have also already been carried out.
