No Govt steps yet to tackle dengue
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI, Oct 28 ? Even as the number of dengue cases has gone on a sharp climb in and around Guwahati, the District Administration has been found dragging its feet in addressing the issue. The Durga Puja celebrations have purportedly slowed down operations to counter the threat along with a lack of adequate resources.
Residents from several areas have complained that there have been no precautionary measures to combat the threat that can lead to fatalities. As reported earlier, deaths have already occurred due to dengue in the state, and more than 200 cases have been detected so far. The incidence is actually higher, because many cases have gone unreported.
