Four more children died of measles in the last 24 hours in the City.
Four-year-old Ali Sher, Faizan, Ali Haider and Hassan, lost their lives to the disease at Mayo Hospital and Children?s Hospital, Lahore.
?It was heart-rending for us to see his [Sher?s] father cry. He lost his only son?to a disease which is 100 per cent preventable,? said a doctor who treated Sher.

80 fresh cases of measles reported in Lahore

There is no let up in measles spread in Lahore, as around 80 fresh cases were reported in different hospitals in Lahore. Of these, as many as 23 fresh victims of measles were admitted in Mayo Hospital, 20 in Children's Hospital and rest in other hospitals.

So far, around 34 children died due to measles in Lahore while the number of victims is increasing with every passing day. Secretary Health Punjab Arif Nadeem said that arrangements have been finalised for launching special mass vaccination campaign against measles in the provincial metropolis under which 3 million children of six months to ten years of age will be inoculated...

One more measles patient died on Monday, taking the death toll to 38 in Lahore. Faiqa, 2, a resident of Kot Abdul Malik, breathed her last at the Lahore Children?s Hospital.

About 110 patients are under treatment in the Lahore hospitals. Sixty-seven children have so far died of measles in Punjab while the tally of infected kids has reached 10,290 in the province. ..

Mass anti-measles vaccination campaign begins in city

LAHORE: A seven-day special mass vaccination campaign against measles has started on Monday across the city during which 3 million children from six months to ten years of age will be vaccinated.

Around 1,090 vaccination teams consisting of more than four thousand people administered anti-measles vaccines at all city schools, hospitals, health centers and other places. Each vaccination team having three to four people was equipped with special iceboxes and other related medical equipment. Earlier, Punjab government had launched a vigorous awareness and publicity campaign for the success of this campaign. Sources said that the first day anti-measles campaign turn out was not seem satisfactory at city hospitals, health centers and other places. Sources said that the health department did not collect any data about the first day campaign across the city, which shows that how many children have vaccinated...
