Over 4,000 dengue cases reported

Over 4,000 cases of dengue have been reported island-wide during the first week of this month alone, Health Ministry officials said last week.
Health ministry sources stated that nine persons have died so far, and the number of patients and deaths could increase within the next few weeks.
Last year out of the 44,000 infected, 227 have died of the disease and the highest number of patients was reported from the Kurunegala District.
