MOH no longer reports dengue fatalities, but a cfr of 0.61% was established in 2011 and the first 5 months of 2012. This would give an estimated 140 fatalities. To September 1st, 60 fatalities have been reported in the media.
The summary report for 2012 http://www.epid.gov.lk/web/images/pdf/wer/2013/vol_40_no_01_english.pdf gives a cfr of 0.4%. This would give an estimate of 91 fatalities.
MOH officials are claiming a cfr of 0.3% this year giving rise to an estimated 68 fatalities.
