MOH no longer reports dengue fatalities, but a cfr of 0.61% was established in 2011 and the first 5 months of 2012. This would give an estimated 50 fatalities. Unofficial figures for 2012 given in post 1 above set the cfr for 2012 at 0.52%, but this is less reliable. To February 24th, 11 fatalities have been reported in the media. The summary report for 2012 gives a cfr of 0.4% http://www.epid.gov.lk/web/images/pdf/wer/2013/vol_40_no_01_english.pdf . This would give an estimate of 33 fatalities.
